Sam You've been waiting much to long now It looks like she's not coming home. Sam You've been loyal True and faithful All this time with being alone. If I could get that same dedication I'd give you everything in creation If she doesn't come back Substitute Whenever you want me I'll be your substitute Whenever you need me If she doesn't come back If she doesn't come back Substitute Whenever you need me Sam Every day you waited for her I've been waiting here for you. Sam All this time that I've been lonely I know what you're going through I'll wait until my chance occur 'Cause you can't keep playing on her If she doesn't come back Substitute Whenever you want me I'll be your substitute Whenever you need me If she doesn't come back If she doesn't come back Substitute Whenever you need me Each day by your window You sit and sigh Hoping to see her face You might as well forget about her And find someone to take her place. Substitute Whenever you want me I'll be your substitute Whenever you need me If she doesn't come back If she doesn't come back Substitute Whenever you need me Songwriters: Willie Harry Wilson

about

After my experimentation with a more down tempo, r'n'b influenced (dare I say more grown up?) sound for my debut solo EP 'Different Grove', I went back to what I do best: uplifting, dance influenced, unashamed pop music with a touch of melancholy and a sprinkle of hope.

After the demise of my old electro/dance/newwave project 'afterparty', for which I collaborated on with a variety of producers and DJs, I got it into my head that I was too old for pop music, that I had to grow up "artistically" ! lol

What was I thinking? I'll never be too old for pop. I'm pop through and through. Why deny it? So here I am, out and pop proud, with my second solo EP 'Up In the End'.

Musically I was inspired by 90s dance classics and 80s synth pop whilst keeping my tapping feet firmly in the here and now!
Lyrically the album is very positive and infectious. There are hints of darkness here and there. We are living in a politically confusing climate which is reflected in some of these 'pop ditties'.
‘Back2Love’ and ‘Try Again’ both address this current mood, yet the way I express myself lyrically leaves both of these songs up for individual interpretation.

'Substitute', a late 70s smash hit by South African girl band Clout, has always been one of my favourite songs. My cover version is very tongue in cheek. I decided not to make any lyrical gender changes. It's 2018. If I can't sing a love song to a man in this time and age, I never can. lol

I'm very happy and proud about the end result of this extended play. I can only hope that my music will resonate with you, that my songs will offer you a little escape of the monotony of everyday life, that they will bring a smile to your face and a spring into your step.

Special mention goes to the creative Hair at my pop Party. Thank you.

We'll be up in the end! XXX
