After the demise of my old band/electro/dance/new wave project 'afterparty', it took me a while to feel creative again. I wasn't sure what to do? Find another band? At my age? Become a solo artist? At my age? What direction? POP, Dance, EDM? At my age? LOL Then I started listening to some 90s r'n'b, soul, rap, hip hop albums and thought, ooh I love this groove, this could be my new, more mature sound. So I've started to play with some samples, wrote some heartfelt lyrics, recorded some vocals and got my old producer mate Rich involved to finish off the production.
The result: my debut solo EP: Different Groove.
It certainly has that r'n'b groove but I wouldn't necessarily call it an r'n'b record. It's quite literally a fusion of r'n'b, hip hop, folk, pop, classical, electronica and as always, what has been described as, my unique vocal approach. LOL It's very different to my previous work with 'afterparty' or 'lolalola'. Hope you all like it. ;0) xx
